Well, I was actually going to wait for my “yearly” June update for this, but I figure that we’re close enough to put this out.
We have officially canceled our adoption. After 5 years of waiting, we have come to the realization that we are just no longer in a position to be successful adoptive parents. We have both moved on with our lives, Laura is becoming a personal trainer, and I am trying to break into a whole field of work and podcasting .. so bringing children into our lives right now would force us to make choices that are unfair to ourselves and to the child.
We still see Adoption in our future, and hope that when the situation is right, we will be able to respond.
It was great getting to know all of you in the adoption community, and wish you success and happiness in your continuing adoption adventures.

A very wise decision. I’m glad you thought of how the child would be affected. Wish you all the best now and in the future.
Hey Stephen & Laura. Congrats on making a good and healthy decision. Many things change in 5 years and since both of you are the successes that we see today, it was important and mature to come to your realization. I’m sure once the time is right, things will work out. In the meantime, Laura I’ll need some gym lessons and Stephen, we’ve got a show to do
I’m sure this is a tough choice, but you need to do whats right for y’all. Great picture of you two
I think it’s the right thing to do right now.
Pleased & proud of you & anyone who thinks of the reality of being a parent and putting the well being of the child first. They are the most important breath in our life.
